The Writing Strategy of the Border Documents of Lu Zhi from the Perspective of Tubo and Huihe Expectations
Lu Zhi had a completely opposite strategy for the writing documents of Huihe and Tubo.The four documents sent to the Tubo all intentionally diluted the Tubo crimes,focusing on praising the friendly relations between the Tang and Tibetan countries,and ensured that the central government of the Tang would actively implement the border policy of leniency.There is only one official document in reply to the Huihe Khan,that is The Book with the Huihe Khan.In the book,the ruler of the Tang Dynasty was called"elder brother",and the Huihe Khan was called"younger brother".The name of brothers reflects the status of the two countries.There are many memories of the peaceful coexistence be-tween the two countries,and the overall style is gentle and solemn.The central idea of the official letters listed above has abandoned the individu-al feelings of the writer and is fully in line with the mind of the ruler.
