The Study of Translating Huangmei Opera Stage Script under the Guidance of Multimodal Theory
Under the initiative of promoting Chinese culture abroad and the project of spreading traditional Chinese opera overseas,local opera works rich in cultural connotations have also garnered attention from the academic community.The central discussion revolves around how to produce high-quality translations of these works and whether there are theories that can scientifically guide and evaluate the quality of op-era translations.As a performing art that combines audiovisual elements,the translation of Huangmei opera scripts aligns well with a multimodal analysis framework that emphasizes the construction of meaning through various semiotic modes,including auditory and visual.Using multi-modal theory to guide the translation of Huangmei opera scripts can make the translation more comprehensive and better suited to the characteris-tics of the stage scripts.
