Study on the Growth and Ecological Benefit of Mixed Stand of Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla and Acacia mangium × A. auriculiformis
The growing increment, climate in the stand, soil physical and chemical character of the 4-year-old mixed stand of E.grandis × E.urophylla and A.mangium × A.auriculiformis were studied. The results showed that the average DBH and individual volume of E.grandis × E.urophylla mixed stand was more 6.3% and 9.7% than that of E.grandis × E.urophylla stand respectively; The water holding capacity, capillary water capacity, capillary porosity, non - capillary porosity and total porosity of soil in the mixed stand was more 6.9%, 8.8%, 9.1%, 13.6%, 9.8% respectively than those of the E.grandis × E.urophylla stand while the bulk density was less 9.6% than that of the pure stand. The content of organic matter, total N, total P, hydrolytic N, available N and K in the soil of mixed stand was more 55.45%, 34.25%, 30.65%, 11.07%, 63.76% and 8.7% respectively than those of the E.grandis × E.urophylla stand. The results indicated that E.grandis × E.urophylla stand mixed with A.mangium × A.auriculiformis could gready promote the growth and improve climatic condition and soil fertility of the stand.
