Effect of Freezing Damage Climate on Eucalyptus camaldulensis Plantations from Tissue Culture Seedlings in Yongzhou City
Severe freezing damage climate occurred in Yongzhou in 2004. After the climate disaster, the situation of young eucalypt seedlings frozen and its recovery were investigated and analyzed, and cold tolerance and recovery of eucalyptus were compared. The results indicated that freezing damage climate in 2004 was very rare and almost all of new forest introduced had suffered damage to some degree. But the young eucalypt forests had a slighter damage and recovered itself quickly. The other freezing damage climate like 2004 had even not the slightest effect on eucalypt plantations in Yongzhou. According to the current situations that Yongzhou was developing the eucalyptus from southern counties to northward, the suggestions of developing eucalyptus industry were given.
