This paper can sort out the clues to the commercialization development of Shiqian by stud-ying the records of commercial activities in the local chronicles of Shiqian in different periods.Previous scholars have focused their discussions on the commercial development of Shiqian based on local chronicles,with a focus on tea and paper trade.There is relatively little research on the improvement of market condi-tions and the emergence of civil economic organizations seen in local chronicles.Taking local chronicles as the center to examine the commercial changes in Shiqian has a positive effect on improving the research of grassroots markets and civil economic organizations in eastern Guizhou.
