The public space of the traditional village of Tunpu in Anshun,Guizhou is an important car-rier for the inheritance of Tunpu culture and the development of local characteristics,as well as an impor-tant place for the collective unconsciousness of Tunpu villagers.However,with the impact of moderniza-tion,traditional public spaces in Tunpu have gradually been assimilated,and the sense of identity of villag-ers towards traditional public places has gradually weakened.The demand for modern public activities is constantly increasing,and the unique Tunpu public spaces are gradually ignoring prototype identity and lacking symbolic awareness.The public space of typical Tunpu traditional villages in Anshun spatial site features mainly enclosed,street and lane structure features mainly axial,and public building layout fea-tures mainly historical.Furthermore,in accordance with the prototype characteristics,strategies for opti-mizing the public space of Anshun Tunpu are proposed,providing reference for the protection and develop-ment of Anshun Tunpu villages,and also providing new ideas for the inheritance and renewal of beautiful rural public spaces in the new era.
