Research Progress of Named Entity Recognition in Legal Documents
The realization of the "digital rule of law, smart justice" has always been our aim and goal. To accelerate the construction of smart courts and provide a reference for subsequent related research, the article summarizes the relevant research results of entity recognition for legal documents. Firstly, we introduce the importance of smart justice and the necessity of exploring named entity recognition tasks in the legal field. Then, we organize the type of entities, annotation method of entities, datasets used in information extraction tasks, and commonly used evaluation indicators in the named entity recognition in existing legal documents. Later, we summarize the development process of named entity recognition in legal documents from multiple aspects such as deep learning based named entity recognition methods, basic model frameworks, and downstream tasks based on named entity recognition. Finally, we point out the existing problems and future research directions from the perspectives of named entity recognition datasets and research methods.
