A Review of the Current Status of Development of Fire Causes and Protection Measures in Tunnels
As China's economy experiences sustained growth,the need for transportation continues to rise,making tunnel construction a highly relevant infrastructure topic.Concurrently,the matter of tunnel fire safety has been brought to the forefront by the expanding tunnel network and its increasing usage,garnering increased attention and significance.Tunnel fire cases at home and abroad in recent decades are summarized and analyzed in the article,and four types of reasons that are most likely to cause tunnel fires are identified:fire caused by the vehicle's own equipment failure,vehicle collision and other traffic accidents,tunnel equipment failure or aging,and burning of vehicle-loaded goods.Five kinds of tunnel fire prevention measures that are widely used at present are also introduced:sprinkler system,fire-resistant concrete,installation of concrete sacrificial layer,fireproof coating,and plate.In addition,a thorough analysis is conducted on the pros and cons of various fire protection measures,aiming to offer valuable insights for enhancing tunnel fire safety and mitigating the potential risks associated with tunnel fire accidents.
