The Bainiyaozi Culture is characterized by typical artifact assemblages such as rope-patterned flared mouth jar, spark furnace,double-lipped pointed-bottomed vase,black-colored wide-banded bowl,folded-rimmed or rolled-rimmed basin, and rope-patterned,large-mouthed urn.The residential structures are semi-subterranean with a south-fa-cing entrance,a hearth near the entrance, and a kindling pit next to the hearth, containing embedded pottery jars.It entered the central and southern regions of Inner Mongolia during the flourishing period of the Shijia Phase of Banpo Culture, displacing the Hougang Phase I Culture.During its northward migration,it ultimately incorporated elements from the spark furnace and double-lipped pointed-bottom bottles.Through typological analysis of the pottery from the Bainiyaozi Culture and referencing the well-established chronological sequence of pointed-bottom bottles in the midstream of the Yellow River region, the abso-lute dating is estimated to be approximately 6100-5900 years ago.
