Based on an examination of both pottery workshops and imitation bronze pottery ritual objects accompanying burials in Warring States Yan tombs, this study explores the production and use of such objects.Pottery workshops across the Yan cultural area exhibited a phenomenon of simultaneously firing daily utensils and pottery ritual objects.During the Warring States period, the production mode of imitation bronze pottery ritual objects in Yan tombs may have involved both customized and mass production. The former likely catered to the elite nobility, while the latter was more widespread among middle and lower-class nobility and common people.Additionally, the production of imitation bronze pottery ritual objects in Warring States Yan tombs showed regional characteristics.Whether in the central region(Lower Capital of Yan area)or the non-cen-tral region(the area north of Yanshan Mountain),imitation bronze pottery ritual objects in Warring States Yan tombs were gen-erally produced locally. However, the craftsmanship of mass-producing imitation bronze pottery ritual objects in the non-central region was comparable to that in the central region.
