Among the 131 burials from the Late Warring States period to the Early Western Han period in the Fuluta Cemetery of Jungar Banner,Inner Mongolia, excavated in 2017-2018,animal remains were unearthed in 97 burials, and a total of 4,663 skeletal specimens were collected.According to their burial locations, usage, and burial parts, they can be cat-egorized into two main groups:animal sacrifices and animal meats.Through the statistical analysis, the animal sacrifice of the Fuluta Cemetery is mainly based on herbivorous domesticated animals such as sheep and cattle;the animal meats are relatively diversified, including rabbits, small cats, pheasants, and other wild animals in addition to the common"six animals".Combi-ning cultural attributes and geographic location, and comparing the Fuluta Cemetery with related tombs,we find that compared with cultural traditions, the animal burials were obviously strongly influenced by the geographical and policy contexts in which they were located, reflecting the cross-fusion characteristics of the farming culture in the Central plains and the nomadic cul-ture in the grassland.
