In the 11th year of Guangxu(1885)of the Qing Dynasty, the epitaph of Yelyu Hongyi's(耶律弘益)wife Xi-ao was unearthed in the north mountain of Pandaoling,20 kilometers north of Yixian County,Liaoning Province. Some scholars believe that Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘益),also known as Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘义),the grandson of Yelyu Longyu,a member of the Khitan royal family, and the third son of King Wei Tiebu.Xiao(Milenyu)is considered his wife.In 2018,the archaeo-logical excavation of Beizhen Xiaohebei Cemetery unearthed the tomb epitaph of Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘义)in M3.Through the examination of the epitaph inscriptions,it was revealed that Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘义)passed away at the young age of 16.The genealogy of his family was clear, and there was no overlap in the timeline with Xiao Milenyu. Therefore,Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘益)is not Yelyu Hongyi(耶律弘义),suggesting the existence of another individual.
