From January to April 2020,the Xi'an Institute of Cultural Relics Protection and Archaeology excavated a group of ancient tombs in Zhucun Village Goudu Subdistrict,Chang'an district,Xi'an.These tombs span three historical peri-ods:Sui,Tang,and Ming-Qing,with the Tang Dynasty tombs being the most numerous.Among them,M19 has a clear date and belongs to Chen Zhengyi,the son of the Tang Dynasty official Chen Shaoyou.The tomb is a single-chamber brick tomb with a long sloped passage.A stone sutra pillar was unearthed from the tomb,reflecting the influence of Buddhist culture on Tang burial practices.The excavation of Chen Zhengyi's tomb provides new material for the study of the burial practice of high-ranking officials in the late Tang Dynasty.
