Leaf Morphology and Physiological Response of Four Hebes Varieties Under High Temperature Stress
Taking four hebe varieties as test materials, using artificial climate incubator to simulate high temperature stress to study the morphology, pigment content and physiological indexes of them,in order to select hebe varieties with strong heat resistance. The results showed that the leaf area increment in the growth index of hebe varieties was significantly reduced by phenotype analysis. When the stress reached 35 ℃,the 'Silver-KARINA'was severe;when the temperature reached 40 ℃,the survival rate of each variety dropped to 0%.Through the analysis of pigment content and physiological indicators, hebe were shady plants. With the strengthening of high temperature stress degree, hebe varieties leaf pigment content showed a trend of gradually decreased, the relative conductivity value, soluble protein content, proline content and POD activity were gradually increasing trend,CAT activity except 'Genna'continued rising trend, other varieties rose first.'Genna'variety had a high survival rate at high temperature, the most accumulation of beneficial substances and more stable membrane permeability. Therefore,it was preliminarily determined that the heat resistance of 'Genna'varieties was slightly better, while the heat resistance of the other three varieties was poor.
