Effects on Growth and Physiological Characteristics of Chrysanthemum 'Ziyan'to Salt Stress
Chrysanthemum 'Ziyan'was used as experimental materials. The plant height, leaf length, leaf width, proline content, leaf relative slectrical conductivity(REC),chlorophyll content, leaf relative water content(RWC),malondialdehyde (MDA)content, superpxide dismutase (SOD)activity and perodidase (POD)activity under different concentrations of NaCl concentrations (50、100、150、200 mmol·L-1 )with water treatment as control were studied,in order to provide reference for the salt resistant mechanism and the applicaiotn of salinealkali land. The results showed that under the salt treatment, the growth of chrysanthemum 'Ziyan ' was inhibited, the plant height decreased by 8.25%-21.67% compared with control, and leaf length and leaf width had no significant change.Salt treatment significantly caused the internal physiological changes of chrysanthemum'Ziyan'.The RWC and chlorophyll content showed a gradually decreasing trend. The content of MDA incteased with the extension of stress time, and REC showed an upward trend.Proline content increased firstly and then decreased, with the peak value at 4th day of treatment.SOD and POD activities increased after salinity stress. These results indicated that the plant damage of chrysanthemum 'Ziyan'could be alleviated under salt stress by increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes and membrane damage.
