Effects of Calcium Ions and Their Inhibitors on the Morphogenesis of Cucumber Seedlings Under Salt Stress
Taking cucumber'Diancui 8'as the test material, treatment was carried out by applying 75 mmol·L-1NaCl and exogenous application of different concentrations of EGTA,LaCl3,CaCl2,Ca(NO3)2.The effects of exogenous application of Ca2+on the morphology and physiological indicators of cucumber seedling leaves and roots under salt stress were studied,in order to provide reference for alleviating the harm of soil salt stress on cucumber and other vegetable cultivation. The results showed that under salt stress, the plant height, root length, and stem diameter of cucumber seedlings were inhibited to varying degrees. The application of Ca2+inhibitors(LaCl3 and EGTA)with a concentration of 4.0 mmol·L-1significantly inhibited the growth of cucumber seedlings, while reducing the activity of antioxidant enzyme systems and increasing the harm of salt stress.Applying 5.0 mmol·L-1 of CaCl2 and Ca(NO3)2 could alleviate salt stress, promote the growth of cucumber seedlings, significantly reduce the content of malondialdehyde and proline, activate and strengthen the activity of antioxidant enzyme(peroxidase, superoxide dismutase).
