Alleviating Effect of Exogenous Substances on Chilling Injury of Melon Seedlings
Taking two melon varieties as experimental materials, the randomized block design method was used, the effects of different concentrations of exogenous salicylic acid(SA)and spermidine(Spd)on the biological traits, antioxidant enzyme activity, and photosynthetic function of melon seedlings under low temperature stress were studied, and the alleviating effects of exogenous salicylic acid(SA)and spermidine(Spd)on the low temperature chilling injury of melon seedlings were studied,in order to provide reference for incearsing low temperature resistance of melon seedlings. The results showed that under low temperature stress, increased the concentration of exogenous spermidine and salicylic acid could significantly alleviate the damage of low temperature to melon seedlings, significantly enhance antioxidant abilities such as POD,SOD,CAT activity, and soluble protein content, enhance low temperature resistance, and significantly enhance the photosynthetic function of melon seedlings.Exogenous spermidine and salicylic acid had a dose-effect effect on alleviating the stress of low temperature chilling injury.Through comprehensive analysis of the biological characteristics, antioxidant enzyme activity, and photosynthetic function of melon seedlings,it was found that the growth status of melon seedlings was the best when exogenous spermidine and salicylic acid were applied at concentrations of 1.5 mmol·L-1and 40.0 mmol·L-1.
