The use of organic fertilizer is an important manifestation of industrial upgrading in the kiwifruit industry. The study used the data from 604 kiwifruit growers to conduct a cross node analysis of the mechanism of the use of organic fertilizers in the production process on postpartum value chain activities(refrigeration and processing)participation. The results showed that increasing the use of organic fertilizers could promote postpartum refrigeration activity participation through a partial mediating effect of yield per 667 m2,and active participation in refrigeration activities could also promote participation in processing activities.Price fluctuations played a positive regulatory role between yield per 667 m2 and participation in refrigeration activities.Based on this, the study proposed the implementation of fertilizer subsidies, with a focus on strengthening cold storage construction,to fundamentally stimulate the motivation of farmers to participate in value chain activities and alleviate the hard constraints of value chain participation caused by insufficient capital accumulation.
