Preliminary investigation on Syrphidae in Songhua Lake from 1999 to 2007shows that there are 56 species belonging to 3 subfamilies and 32 genera,among which 8 species are the newly recorded in Jilin province,Volucella jeddona,Eristalis tenax and Episyrhus balteata were dominant species.The time occurs from May to September and the population peak is in June and July.The main faunistic category is Palaearctic origin,and they originates from the China-Himalaya and Europe-Siberia.
