By using the methods of literature review, expert interviews and logical analysis, this paper analyzes rural sports market segmentation and present situations of the development of the rural sports industry, finding out the block of its development and finally putting forward the proposals which combines with the government regulation theory. Suggestions of the study include spreading the idea of sports consumption to farmers, establishing social and economic environment for the development of rural sports industry, improving the rural public service system, training specialists in the field of rural sports industry, increasing financial support for rural sports industry and encouraging the development of the new leading sports products. By these government regulation ways, this paper hopes to promote the development of rural sports industry.
