为了借鉴美国男子篮球职业联赛（NBA）马刺队的战术理念，为我国篮球技战术研究提供参考，采用录像分析法对 NBA 马刺队助理教练吉姆在2014年武汉中国篮协全国教练员岗位培训班的授课技战术演练视频、NBA2013-2014赛季总决赛第五场视频进行研究分析，得出马刺队的整体进攻基本战术原则为：始终保持空间拉开，以球向内线转移向篮下进攻吸引调动防守为进攻起势，通过空切、挡拆、突分等灵活多变的基础战术配合，内外有机结合寻找机会，内、外线均衡进攻，让防守方无法确定防守的侧重点，疲于奔命。
