Establishment of Reference Intervals for Ratios of Neutrophil/Lymphocyte, Platelet/Lymphocyte and Neutrophil/Monocyte
Objective To establish the reference interval of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)and neutrophil-to-monocyte ratio(NMR)in Chengdu area, and to further provide more complete knowledge basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods From January 1,2017 to September 13,2022,1918 peripheral blood samples (EDTA-K2 anticoagulant samples)were collected from people who underwent physical examination in Nuclear Industry 416 Hospital and were strictly excluded from recent infectious diseases. The reference intervals of NLR, PLR and NMR were established by using the 2.5 percentile (P2.5 )to 97.5 percentile (P97.5 ).Results There was statistical significance in differences of NLR,PLR and NMR between male and female groups (P<0.01).The reference interval of NLR was 0.88-3.53 for male, and 0.89-4.67 for female. The reference interval of PLR was 40.35-170.47 for male, and 51.04-188.64 for female. The reference interval of NMR was 4.55-13.76 for male, and 4.64-17.91 foe female. Conclusion The establishment of reference intervals for NLR,PLR and NMR can facilitate the clinical diagnosis and differential diagnosis of infectious diseases, and it also lays a good foundation for the study of specific diseases in combination with other infectious disease markers.
