A Case Report of Kimura Disease with Nephrotic Syndrome
Objective To explore clinical characteristics of Kimura disease with nephrotic syndrome and to improve our understanding.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data,laboratory,imaging,pathological examination,bone marrow biopsy results,diagnosis and treatment information of the patient with Kimura disease and nephrotic syndrome admitted to Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital in July,2023.The latest literature review was conducted and combined to improve our understanding of Kimura disease.Results A 37-years old male patient had multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and a history of nephrotic syndrome for 17 years.The clinical manifestations were proteinuria,rash and itching.The renal biopsy was consistent with minimal glomerular lesions.Postoperative pathological results were consistent with Kimura disease.Patient's symptoms had improved after surgical resection followed by oral corticosteroids combined with immunosuppressants.Conclusion Renal damage in patients with Kimura disease often manifests as nephrotic syndrome,with a few appearing earlier than Kimura disease.Surgical resection combined with medication treatment can help improve the condition for patients.
