The Correlation Between Platelet Count and Thromboelastographic Parameters in Tibetan Population in Sichuan Region
Objective To investigate the correlation between platelet(PLT)count and thromelastogram(TEG)parameters in Tibetan population in Sichuan region. Methods 2 056 Tibetan patients admitted to our hospital from January,2022 to December,2022 who underwent thromboelastogram and routine blood tests were retrospectively analyzed. These patients were divided into four groups according to PLT levels:PLT lower group(PLT<100 × 109/L,n=53),PLT normal low group(PLT of 100 × 109/L to 200 × 109/L,n=712),PLT normal high group(PLT of 201 × 109/L to 300 × 109/L,n=969),and PLT elevated group(PL>300×109/L,n=322).The results of TEG parameters among all four groups were compared to explore the relationship between TEG parameters and PLT counts in the Tibetan population in Sichuan region.During the same period,2 056 Han Chinese population in this region were selected to evaluate whether there was difference in the relationship between TEG parameters and PLT counts between Tibetans and Han Chinese. Results In the Tibetan population in Sichuan region, the maximum angle of tangency(Angle)of elastography, coagulation composite index(CI),and maximum amplitude of clot(MA)were positively correlated with PLT counts, with the correlation coefficients r of 0.401,0.418,and 0.419,respectively(P<0.001),while the time of clot formation(K)and reaction time(R)were negatively correlated with PLT counts, with the correlation coefficients r of-0.393 and-0.138(P<0.001),respectively.In the Han Chinese population in Sichuan region,Angle,CI,and MA were positively correlated with PLT counts, with correlation coefficients r of 0.271,0.273,and 0.333(P<0.001),respectively;K was negatively correlated with PLT counts, with correlation coefficient r of-0.248(P<0.001),and R had no correlation with PLT counts.PLT counts in the Tibetan PLT lowering group and PLT normal high value group were positively correlated with Angle,CI and MA,while negatively correlated with K.PLT counts in the Tibetan PLT normal low value group and Tibetan PLT elevated group were positively correlated with Angle,Cl and MA,while negatively correlated with K and R.Conclusion There is a close correlation between PLT counts and TEG parameters in the Tibetan population in the Sichuan region, which is different from the Han population in this region.
