A Correlation Analysis of FOXM1 and RNF2 Expressions with Clinical Pathological Parameters and Prognosis in Esophageal Cancer Tissue
Objective To explore and evaluate the correlation between the expressions of forkhead box protein M1(FOXM1)and ring finger protein 2(RNF2)in esophageal cancer tissue and their clinical pathological parameters and prognosis. Methods From January,2018 to December,2019,120 esophageal cancer patients admitted to our hospital were regarded as the research subjects, and esophageal cancer tissue samples and adjacent tissue samples removed during surgery were collected.Another 45 patients with esophageal cancer were enrolled and esophageal cancer tissue samples removed during surgery were collected as the validation group. We detected expression levels of FOXM1 and RNF2 in esophageal cancer tissue and adjacent tissues, then analyzed their correlation with patient prognosis, and identified influencing factors on the prognosis of esophageal cancer patients. Results Expression levels of FOXM1 and RNF2 in esophageal cancer tissue were significantly higher than those in adjacent tissues(P<0.05);Expression levels of FOXM1 and RNF2 in esophageal cancer tissue were positively correlated(r=0.625,P<0.05);The proportions of stage Ⅲ+Ⅳ TNM staging, lymph node metastasis, and deep invasion depth in the FOXM1 high expression group and RNF2 high expression group were significantly higher than those in the FOXM1 low expression group and RNF2 low expression group(P<0.05);Esophageal cancer patients with low expression of FOXM1 and RNF2 in cancer tissue had significantly higher 3-year survival rates(47.45%,48.33%)than those with high expression of FOXM1 and RNF2(27.87%,26.67%)(X2=4.302,6.009,P=0.038,0.014);TNM staging, lymph node metastasis, depth of infiltration,FOXM1,and RNF2 were all risk factors for death in esophageal cancer patients(P<0.05).In the validation group, the proportion of patients with lymph node metastasis,TNM stage Ⅲ+Ⅳ,and deep infiltration depth in the FOXM1 high expression group and RNF2 high expression group were significantly higher than those in the FOXM1 low expression group and RNF2 low expression group(P<0.05),respectively,while the 3-year survival rate was significantly lower than that in the FOXM1 low expression group and RNF2 low expression group(P<0.05),respectively.Conclusion Expression levels of FOXM1 and RNF2 in esophageal cancer tissues are related to their clinical pathological characteristics and 3-year survival rate.
