The Diagnostic Value of IL-6,NLR,PLR and ESR in Adult Community Acquired Pneumonia
Objective To investigate the application value of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6),neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR),platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)levels in the diagnosis and treatment of adult community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).Methods A total of 110 patients with confirmed CAP admitted to our hospital from April,2022 to January,2023 were selected as the CAP group, including 80 non-severe cases and 30 severe cases, while 90 healthy subjects in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The basic information of these two groups and the differences between the two groups of patients for multiple indexes, including IL-6,NLR,PLR and ESR were statistically compared and evaluated. Results Levels of IL-6,NLR,PLR and ESR in the CAP group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05),while levels of IL-6,NLR and PLR in the severe CAP group were significantly higher than those in the non-severe group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in ESR levels (P>0.05).ROC curve showed that the AUC of the combination of IL-6,NLR,PLR and ESR in the diagnosis of CAP was 0.949 (95% CI 0.908-0.975),which was higher than that of each of four indicators individually. Conclusion Serum expression levels of IL-6,NLR,PLR and ESR in adults with CAP are high, and the combined detection of these four indicators could effectively improve the diagnostic accuracy of CAP,and levels of IL-6,NLR and PLR are correlated with the severity of CAP,which could provide a reference basis for the clinical diagnosis.
