A Discussion of Reference Range and Correlation of Thromboelastogram and Sonoclot Coagulation and Platelet Function in Full-term Pregnancy
Objective To develop the reference range of thromboelastography and Sonoclot coagulation and platelet function in healthy full-term pregnant women. Methods 160 cases of full-term pregnant women admitted to the Obstetrics Department of our hospital without coagulation system diseases were selected for the study. The R value,K value,Angle value,MA value,ACT value,CR value and PF value of these subjects were statistically analyzed by means of thrombologram and Sonoclot detection results. The related reference value ranges were then established. Results In 160 cases of full-term pregnant women,at least one TEG and Sonoclot test exceeded the manufacturer's recommended reference value range which was considered as abnormal, and the abnormal rate of Sonoclot was 56.87%,For TEG,the rate was 71.70%.The reference values of TEG indexes ranged as follows:R3.4-7.9min,K0.9-3.0min,Angle 62.9-72.9°,and MA 48.0-83.6mm.ACT 125.5-184.5s,CR 20.2-63.6clot/min,and PF 0.6-4.7.Among the two detection methods, only ACT was correlated with R values(P<0.05).Conclusion The coagulation status of pregnant women is significantly different from that of non-pregnant normal population. The reference value range of TEG and Sonoclot for coagulation and platelet function analysis provided by the manufacturer is not applicable to full-term pregnant women. The reference value range of these two items needs to be re-established for more accurate clinical diagnosis and treatment.
