A Study of the Expression of Cytokine in the Peripheral Blood of Patients with Allergic Rhinitis
Objective To investigate and evaluate the expression of cytokine in the peripheral blood plasma of patients with allergic rhinitis(AR),and to provide a theoretical basis for individualized clinical treatment of AR.Methods A total of 414 patients with simple allergic rhinitis at Beijing Tongren Hospital from May,2021 to October,2022 were collected for the study.Based on the level of total serum IgE,414 AR patients were divided into three groups, including groups of normal, median, and high.Flow cytometry was used to detect expression levels of twelve cytokines in patients'peripheral blood plasma and we identified their differences among groups with different IgE serum concentrations. The clinical significance of these twelve cytokines produced in AR patients were then evaluated. Results Among 414 patients with simple allergic rhinitis, there were 216 in the normal value group,103 in the median group, and 102 in the high value group.IL-5 levels were significantly different among three groups(P<0.05).Conclusion IL-5 participates in the inflammatory response of AR,and is positively correlated with serum IgE levels.IL-5 detection combined with total IgE could facilitate differentiate between perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis.
