Investigation on health and pest of ancient trees in Changping District and Mentougou District of Beijing
[Objective]Ancient trees have great ecological value.By investigating the health status and occurrence of diseases and pests of ancient trees in Changping District and Mentougou District of Beijing,the growth status of ancient trees in the two dis-tricts was mastered,which provided basic data for further strengthening the protection and fine conservation management of ancient trees.[Methods]Investigate the health status and occurrence of diseases and pests of ancient trees in Forest Farm of Ming Tombs,Qingwang Grave,Jietai Temple,Tanzhe Temple and Miaofeng Mountain.[Results]Among the 422 ancient trees surveyed,81%were in healthy state,the decay rate was 3.79%,the rate of gum flow was 4.5%,and the rate of fresh hole decay was 1.18%.Among them,the health rate of ancient trees such as Sophora japonica,Ginkgo bilobal L.,A.chinensis,Magnolia denudata and Acer truncatum Bunge was 100%.Among the ancient trees with diseases and pests,the decay of ancient Pinus tabulaeformis rate was the lowest(1.72%)and the disease index was 1.72.The rate of gum flow in ancient Pinus bungeana was the lowest(2.86%).The pest damage rate of ancient Pinus tabulaeformis was the lowest(0.47%).[Conclusion]The ancient trees in Changping District and Mentougou District of Beijing were generally at a healthy level,and the occurrence degree of pests and diseases of ancient trees was significantly correlated with the health level.
