Restoration measures and prospects for degenerated grasslandof black soil beach in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
The area of alpine grassland in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is approximately 8.7×107 hm2,accounting for 22.1%of the national grassland area, which is the largest grassland type in China. In recent years, due to the issues such as overgrazing and outdated grassland management, natural grasslands continuously degraded, forming black soil beaches. This paper summarized the restoration measures for degraded grasslands in black soil beaches and proposed future development directions, mainly inclu-ding strengthening water resource management and regulation in high-altitude areas. The restoration plans were made and im-plemented by collaborating with local farmers and herdsmen, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations.Moreo-ver,the management and protection mechanisms for the ecosystem of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were also improved, including the establishment of natural reserves, protection of wildlife and plants, and relocation protection. These measures will help re-store grassland health and promote sustainable development of the ecosystem.
