The return of migrant workers to their hometowns for entrepreneurship has increasingly become an important force in promoting poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Systematically and scientifically combing and analyzing the research hotspots and trends of returning migrant workers is of certain significance for academic research and the government to formulate corresponding policies. Using CiteSpace5.8 ( R3 ) quantitative visualization analysis method, this paper analyzes the core institutions, core authors, hot spots, keyword co-occurrence and suddenness of 859 related literature on the study of " migrant workers returning to their hometowns for entrepreneurship " in the database of China National Knowledge Infrastructure ( CNKI ) from 2006 to 2023. The analysis results show that in the past 17 years, the research results on migrant workers returning home to start a business have been continuously enriched, and the amount of literature has been increasing as a whole, but the cooperation between the authors and the core institutions in this field is weak. The research hotspots of migrant workers' returning home entrepreneurship mainly focus on the support of entrepreneurship policy, the analysis of influencing factors and the improvement of entrepreneurship quality. The integration of entrepreneurship and rural revitalization strategy and ecological construction is a key issue in recent years. Future research needs to further enhance the combination of qualitative and quantitative in this field, while increasing attention to other diverse groups of homecoming entrepreneurs, fully integrating the concept of ecological civilization construction into the entire process of homecoming entrepreneurship.
