Childhood is a crucial period for the formation of gender awareness and the shaping of gender identity. This study used cluster sampling to distribute survey questionnaires to 521 primary school students in S Primary School in C city,and combined interviews and observations with parents,teachers,and primary school students to explore the current situation and influencing factors of gender identity among primary school students. Research has found that primary school students generally have a higher level of gender identity,with girls having higher levels of gender identity than boys. Third grade is a critical period for primary school students to identify with their own gender identity. From the perspective of influencing factors,individual cognition is the main factor affecting gender identity. Families bear the main responsibility for gender identity education,schools are important places for shaping gender identity,and mass media are also long-term potential influencing factors that cannot be ignored.
