High-quality development is the strategic choice for China's economic and social progress,and medical security should also achieve high-quality development. According to the spirit of the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the measurement standards for the high-qual-ity development of medical security can be summarized as:access to healthcare-comprehensive coverage,access to quality healthcare-full protection,affordable healthcare-reasonable medical expenses. Accord-ing to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals,specific indicators for assessing healthcare quality include the Universal Health Care Basic Health Service Coverage Index and universal health care cost coverage. Analysis indicates that over the past two decades,there has been significant improvement in the quality of basic health services covered by China's national health insurance;however,there is a need to strengthen coverage of non-communicable diseases within these services. Chinese families' out-of-pocket medical expenses remain high,and the problem of expensive medical treatment in China is still quite severe,requiring effective measures to be taken to address it.
