The Vocational College Skills Competition has been held for sixteen consecutive years,show-casing the unique characteristics of vocational education. The content and format of the competition align with the cultivation features of skilled talents in vocational education,driving the in-depth reform of voca-tional education. Through analyzing the changes in the event settings of the skills competition and tracking the skill learning process of some award-winning contestants during their preparation,this paper reflects on the skill cultivation of vocational education students and summarizes the key directions that should be fo-cused on in vocational education talent cultivation:strengthening project-based instructional design to in-tegrate work domains with learning domains;guiding students to identify their learning directions and be-come active constructors in skill learning;adhering to the laws of skill development and effectively applying skill learning methods and strategies;leveraging the function of team-based cooperative learning to improve students' communication,collaboration,and problem-solving abilities.
