While loosely coupled inter-organizational relationships drive business model innovation, they also generate a series of negative network effects, making effective governance mechanisms crucial.Taking 271 knowledge-intensive enterprises in China as the research subjects, this study explores the impact of dual governance mechanisms, including contractual governance and relational governance,on firms'business model innovation. The research findings indicate that dual governance has a positive impact on business model innovation, with relational governance exhibiting a stronger driving force. The dual governance mechanisms promote business model innovation by inhibiting knowledge hiding among organizations, with altruistic moral values playing a moderating role in this process.
