In response to the increasing demand for care for disabled elderly individuals in community-based home settings in Beijing,a comprehensive practical course integrating the 5E teaching model has been designed and implemented for the major in Smart Health and Elderly Care Service and Management in high-er vocational education.The course revolves around five components:"Engage,Explore,Explain,Elabo-rate,and Evaluate,"guiding students to conduct in-depth community research,analyze data,and design personalized care plans.The course emphasizes the integration of theory with practical problems and adopts a dual-mentor system to promote students'autonomous learning and team collaboration,enhancing their practical abilities and innovative thinking in addressing complex care needs.Research shows that this course effectively improves students'operational skills,teamwork,social responsibility,and innovative awareness in the field of elderly care services,providing a useful reference for the reform of vocational education in eld-erly care nursing.
