Professionalization is the essential path for the comprehensive revitalization of China's"big three"sports. This paper systematically examines the historical development of professional sports in China's"big three"sports, summarizes the actual challenges faced in their development, and proposes the desired direction for the development of professional sports in China's"big three"sports. The study finds that the development of profes-sional sports in China's"big three"sports has gone through three stages:initial establishment, exploratory devel-opment,and deepening reform. However,it also faces challenges such as unclear goal positioning and value orien-tation,inadequate management system and property rights relations, insufficient profitability and industry self-discipline,lack of reserve talents and managerial talents, and incomplete rule of law system and supervision system. The study proposes the following recommendations:shifting from zero-sum game to win-win situation by optimizing development positioning and coordinating interests from multiple parties;transitioning from centralized management to collaborative governance by enhancing institutional innovation and clarifying property rights struc-ture;moving from explicit values to implicit values by fulfilling social responsibilities and enriching the value sys-tem;progressing from Western introduction to local development by cultivating cultural systems and stimulating consumer markets;addressing talent shortages through comprehensive talent cultivation by expanding training channels and constructing talent systems;and advancing from insufficient rules and laws to rule-based governance by improving the legal system and strengthening supervision and management.
