Historical Writing of Guangxi Ethnic Dance Development Since 1949
Since 1949,the historical study of Guangxi ethnic dance has undergone three significant periods:the"ethnic minorities art survey"during the 1950s and 60s,the"compilation of Chinese ethnic and folk dance"during the 1980s and 90s,and the"intangible cultural heritage protection"since the 21st century. The dances investigated in the 1950s and 60s gradually became a part of local knowledge. The"compilation"in the 80s and 90s more concretely incorporated ethnic dance into history.During the 21st century's heritage protection process, the Guangxi ethnic dance was re-censured and recorded as a form of local knowledge, achieving a transformation in identity and value from local to national. These three periods exhibit a process of historical superscription for Guangxi ethnic dance, forming a research methodology centered on field investigations and the writing paradigm of"dance ethnography".The historical rewriting of Guangxi ethnic dance is not only a construction of a writing paradigm but also a process of artistic re-practice and reproduction, which is significant for the advancement of contemporary Chinese ethnic dance studies.
