The Evolution of Body Movement Patterns in Chinese Classical Dance Based on Visual Construction
This paper uses a visual analysis approach to examine the evolution of body movement patterns in Chinese classical dance, revealing the intricate and layered development of bodily visual construction since its inception. From the perspective of visual research,Chinese classical dance shapes a poised body through"placement(bai)"and"uprightness(li),"creates curved visual lines through"roundness"and"curvature,"exhibits meridian-like extensions through"stretch"and"extend,"builds counter-directional visuals through"opposition"and"momentum(shi),"forms circular visuals with"axis"and"transformation,"and constructs diverse body visuals through"pausing(dun)"and"breaking(cuo)."This reinterpretation of the body's visual formation process further reveals the essential features of Chinese classical dance as visual art, exploring the deep-seated logic behind its visual representation and the complex, interwoven relationships among various elements. It also illuminates the historical, cultural, and conceptual body perspectives underlying the visual phenomena in Chinese classical dance.
