Based on the analysis of the impact mechanism of digital technology on the cargo con-solidation efficiency of national logistics hub cities,the panel data of 20 national logistics hub cities in China from 2011-2021 are selected to calculate the comprehensive index of digital technology devel-opment,the level of urban cargo consolidation efficiency and its regional differences,and further em-pirically test the impact of the former on the latter and regional heterogeneity.The results show that digital technology has significantly improved the efficiency of cargo consolidation in national logistics hub cities.Heterogeneity analysis found that the impact of digital technology on urban consolidation efficiency is more significant in central and second tier cities,which may be related to their still in the stage of increasing marginal returns.Based on the above results,suggestions are proposed to accelerate the healthy development of digital technology to drive the improvement of cargo consolida-tion efficiency in national logistics hub cities,including national and regional differences.
