Ways for Literati to Express Gratitude:Poetic and Literary Appreciation of Medical Monks by Literati,and the Interaction between Them during the Song and Yuan Dynasties
The response and exchange between literati and monks was one of the important topics in the area of research on Buddhist literature.In Song and Yuan Dynasties,a large number of monks participated in social medical activities,so some literati praised or thanked such medical monks.At the same time,some of them sincerely appreciated medical monks.Through the interaction between lite-rati and medical monks through poetry and prose in Song and Yuan Dynasties,we could find the scenes of social life and characteristics of social intercourse of the group of medical monks.This is a u-nique way to explore the relationship between monks and literati in the Song and Yuan Dynasties from the perspective of poetry and prose and a special observation method for the development of interaction and communication between them at more levels.
