Questioning the Authenticity of the Newly Unearthed Du Rouzheng's Epitaph
The details of the excavation of Du Rouzheng's Epitaph are unknown.At present,only rubbings can be seen.Upon careful examination,the content of the epitaph is really suspicious.According to the epitaph,Du Rouzheng was the 11th grandson of Du Yu,which is different from what we know at the moment.The official positions held by Du's great grandfather and grandfather,as described in the epitaph,do not appear in the Book of Zhou;Compared with the experience of her husband Wang Gui,the title of Du in the epitaph text is quite unreasonable;The experience of Du Rouzheng in the Wang family,as described in the epitaph,is likely to be transcribed from the Old Book of Tang.In addition,there are some understanding and technical questions.Therefore,Du Rouzheng's Epitaph may be a false one.
