An Analysis of Inscriptions on Nie Fang Ding and Related Historical Issues
Ji family was a great family of Shang and Zhou Dynasties,with many bronze wares pas-sed down through generations.The bronze ware of the Ji family is widely distributed and records nu-merous historical facts.This paper takes the Nie Fang Ding unearthed in the western Liaoning region as an example,and compares its inscriptions with the bronze wares of the Ji family of the same period.Combined with the oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty,it explores and interprets the rele-vant issues hidden in the inscriptions on the Nie Fang Ding.
