"Penetration"or"Transcendence"—An Angle to Understand the Relationship between Zhan Ganquan and Wang Yangming's"Heart"and"Qi"
Zhan Ganquan and Wang Yangming both attach importance to the concept of"qi",while linking"qi"with"heavenly principles"or"intuitive knowledge",they have not lost the basic stand of"mind studies",which is the similarity between them.However,Ganquan and Yangming also show different purposive interests in treating"heart"and"qi".In short,Gan Quan focuses on the common principle of"mind"and"qi",accommodating everything into the life domain of"big heart";Yangming is committed to the development of its own inherent conscience and transcends the limita-tions of"qi"with the light of its own heart.Under"penetration"and"transcendence",there are many differences in their understanding of noumenon and endeavor.Therefore,contrasting and examining from the perspective of"heart"and"qi"may provide different references for understanding the thoughts of Wang Yangming and Zhan Ganquan.
