Overview of Wang Yongbin and the Sanqu Xiansheng Ji
Wang Yongbin is a Shaanxi native scholar in the middle and late Ming Dynasty,and his main political activities were in the Jiajing period.He is honest but oppressed by the powerful prime minister Yan Song.His articles are solemn and elegant as well as brilliant.His style is derived from excellent articles of the Tang Dynasty.The existing collection of works by Wang Yongbin,titled Sanqu Xiansheng Ji,are two types of block-printed editions from the 29th year of Wanli and the 2nd year of Tianqi.By researching the Sanqu Xiansheng Ji,this paper analyses the publishing of the Sanqu Xiansheng Ji and the differentiation of the two editions,and at the same time,counts the quantity of articles in the works.
