The armorial inscriptions on bronze of the Western Zhou Dynasty not only had clan names different from those of the late Shang Dynasty, but also had a large number of clan names in-herited from the late Shang Dynasty. This is a reflection of the existence and development of adherents of the Yin in Western Zhou society. At present, there is a lack of comprehensive organization and re-search in the academic community on the armorial inscriptions on bronze of the Western Zhou Dynas-ty.Through the sorting and statistical analysis of the types and quantities of the armorial inscriptions on bronze of the Western Zhou Dynasty,it was found that the types and quantities of the armorial in-scriptions on bronze in the middle and late Western Zhou Dynasty showed a significant downward trend. The main reason for this is not only the strong influence of Zhou culture during this period, but also the changes in the social structure and relationships of the Western Zhou Dynasty,as well as the recognition of Zhou culture by the adherents of the Yin Dynasty.A correct understanding of the above-mentioned changes in the types and quantities of the armorial inscriptions on bronze of the Western Zhou Dynasty is of great significance for a deeper understanding of the social organizational structure, family forms, migration and mobility of ethnic groups, and ethnic integration in the West-ern Zhou Dynasty.
