Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of compound Kushen injection in the treatment of radiation-induced lung injury
Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of compound Kushen injection (CKI) in the treatment of radiation-induced lung injury (RILI). Methods The RCT research of CKI in the treatment of RILI in Chinese and English published by China knowledge network,Wanfang database,VIP database,China biomedical literature service system,PubMed、Embase、The Cochrane Library and other metabases up to February 28th,2023 was selected, and the extracted data were analyzed by using RevMan5.4 statistical software. Results A total of 64 articles were searched, and 12 literatures were finally included, including 1229 patients,of which there were 611 cases in CKI combined radiotherapy group and 618 cases in simple radiotherapy group. Meta-analysis results showed that the clinical effective rate and the incidence of RILI grade 0 to 1 in CKI combined radiotherapy group were higher than those in simple radiotherapy group, while the incidence of radiation pneumonia, radiation pulmonary fibrosis and RILI grade 2 to 5 were lower than those in the simple radiotherapy group. The counts of CD3+and CD4+in CKI combined radiotherapy group were higher than those in simple radiotherapy group, and the levels of CD8+,TGF-β1 and TNF-α in CKI combined radiotherapy group were lower than those in single radiotherapy group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions CKI combined with radiotherapy can effectively reduce the incidence of RILI,improve the status of immune sysmten and serum levels of TGF-β1 and TNF-α,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
