Analysis of platelet antibody detection results in 29 855 pediatric patients
Objective To explore the production, distribution and influencing factors of platelet antibodies in pediatric patients. Methods A total of 29 855 children who underwent platelet antibody testing in Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University from 2019 to 2023 were selected, and platelet antibodies in serum were detected by solid-phase agglutination. The production, distribution and influencing factors of platelet antibodies in pediatric patients were analyzed. Results Among the 29 855 pediatric patients, there were 16 370 males and 13 485 females, aged from 0 to 17 years, with an average of(5.7±4.9)years.A total of 2 594 children were positive for platelet antibodies, with an overall positive rate of 8.7%.The positive rate of platelet antibodies in children with a history of blood transfusion was higher than that in children without a history of blood transfusion(14.2%vs.6.6%),the positive rate of platelet antibodies in children screened positive for erythrocyte irregularity antibodies was higher than that in children negative(14.7%vs.8.6%),and the positive rate of platelet antibodies in children aged 0-4 years was higher than that in children aged>4-17 years(11.0%vs.5.6%).Comparison of positive rate of platelet antibody among different diseases were statistically different(P<0.05).Conclusions Platelet antibody positivity is higher in children with a history of blood transfusion, positive erythrocyte irregularity antibodies, aged 0-4 years, and in children with immune system disorders, with disorders of blood or hematopoietic organs, and infectious diseases.
