Exploring the Impact of Cinema Therapy in Group Psychological Counseling to Enhance College Students'Perception of Life Meaning
Objective:This study aims to assess the impact of cinema therapy in enhancing college students'perception of life meaning through group psychological counseling.Method:Utilizing the film"Postmen in the Mountains"as teaching material,this study integrated theories of life meaning,cinema therapy,the Satir model,and group dynamics.It incorporated psychological foundations such as observational learning,metaphor,projection,and identification to explore the mechanisms of group psychological counseling for life meaning.The study involved 72 sophomore volunteers,with 36 in the control group and 36 in the intervention group.Grounded theory was used to analyze three interviews with the intervention group to construct dimensions and developmental mechanisms of life meaning perception.Results:The psychological development process of college students'perception of life meaning was divided into three stages,including confusion,realization,and enlightenment.Four dimensions were identified including quality of life,social relationships,values,and self-development,providing a comprehensive framework for assessing life meaning perception.Conclusion:Cinema therapy positively influences college students'cognitive level for life meaning and motivates them to seek life's purpose.It also demonstrates contemporary value and provides a innovative perspective and models for innovating mental health education in higher education institutions,with significant potential for widespread application.
