Research on the Intention and Influencing Factors of Faculty in Higher Agricultural Colleges to Engage in Rural Science and Technology Services
Based on the survey data from 578 faculty members in 6 higher agricultural colleges,Binary Logistic Model was employed to empirically investigate their intention and influencing factors of faculty in higher agricultural colleges to participate in rural science and technology services.The results showed that 72.7%of the teachers expressed their intention to participate in rural science and technology services.Their intention to participate is affected by personal characteristics such as professional background and family support,social reputation and close teamwork in their disciplines,participation motivations like career advancement,social recognition,and realization of life value,and participation opportunities including a robust incentive system,sound organizational structure,and an effective platform,as well as participation ability such as market navigation,communication,and self-regulation.Therefore,it is essential to focus on the practical needs of faculty in higher agricultural colleges,fully stimulate their intrinsic motivation,actively create good opportunities,and effectively cultivate their comprehensive ability,so as to improve their intention to participate in rural science and technology services,and enable higher agricultural colleges to effectively shoulder the mission of rejuvenating agriculture through science and education and agricultural and rural modernization in the new era.
